Composite insulator
The composite insulator is composed by three components of insulation core rod; silicon rubber shed cover and the connecting hardware at the both ends. The insulation core rod is the abbreviation name of epoxy resin fiberglass pultruded rods, which is the frame of the polymer insulator with multifunction of supporting the shed cover, internal insulation, connecting hardware at both ends and bearing mechanical load ect. The insulation core rod has high tensile strength of over 600MPa, which is twice of common steel and 5 to 8 times of porcelain. Also the core rod has good performances in dielectric property, chemical attack resistance, bending fatigue resistance, creep resistance and impact resistance. The silicon rubber shed cover is mainly functioned by protecting core rod, shielding rain and snow, increasing the creepage distance and providing external insulation for the product etc. It is made with high polymer silicon rubber as the matrix and vulcanized under high temperature and high pressure with the assistance of fillers such as fire retardant, aging resistant and coupling anent etc. The shed cover has good performances in hydrophobicity , migration, corrosion resistance , aging resistance and electrical insulation etc. and can provide extremely high pollution flashover voltage and smashing resistance performance. The voltage is evenly distributed and the flashover voltage is twice of porcelain compared with porcelain under the same conditions.
The polymer insulator manufactured by DCI adopts hardware made of special steels. The terminals of the hardware applied a labyrinth design principle with multilayer protection and outstanding sealing performance. Electrical breakdown of interface, the key problem of the insulator, has been solved. The connection of hardware and core rod applies the most advanced computer control coaxial constant voltage crimp connection techniques in the world and is provided with full automotive acoustic emission flaw inspection system, which ensures the reliabilities and stabilities of the connection between the hardware and the core rod. The core rod applies ERC high temperature acid resistant rod with special coupling agent applied on the interfaces of core rod and silicon rubber. The shed cover applies one-through comprehensive shaping techniques under high temperature and pressure. With the assistance of post vulcanization, the service life of the product has been extended. The advanced manufacturing facilities and techniques, together with comprehensive detection facilities and techniques, ensure that all technical indicators of the product meet the relevant national or international standards and make the product as a new generation insulator applied on high voltage transmission and transformation wire.
